HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News – October 5, 2022): The management of Sindh Tando Jam University of Agriculture has decided to establish the first agriculture museum aimed at preserving the agricultural heritage of the province.
The decision to establish the first-ever agriculture museum was taken at a meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Fateh Marri.
The meeting was also attended by, among others, the eminent educationalist, archaeologist and former vice-chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University, Dr. Nilofer Shaikh, the vice-chancellor of the University of Art, Design and of SABS Heritage, Dr. Bhai Khan Shar, Sindh Heritage Endowment Fund Advisor, Dr.
Ishtiaq Ansari and the Dean of Crop Protection Faculty of Sindh University of Agriculture, Dr. Inayatullah Rajpar.
The meeting was informed that the agricultural museum would contribute to the preservation of agricultural heritage, agricultural society and the history of the country. The museum would also help exhibit the oldest agricultural and irrigation equipment from the Mohenjo Daro period, he was told.
The meeting decided that the management of the university would approach the Government of Sindh and the Higher Education Commission with a request for financial assistance in this regard.
