MACOMB – JBee Designs, a kitchen and bathroom design company, will open at 17 East Side Square this spring.

Jena Bredeman is originally from Burlington, Iowa, but has been in the area for 13 years. She and her husband, Blake, are co-owners of the new business. She has four children aged 2 to 15 who attend school in the Macomb School District.

“I am a country girl at heart, passionate about hunting and painting. I have a very artistic background. I love being in Macomb and the Midwest.

Bredeman is a Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer (CKBD) and is certified by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). She said she is well educated on building codes.

She said the community lacked a business like this. “We have lumber yards, but we have to leave town for the big box stores. “

“I want to have an intimate and personal experience with people who need advice. I basically offer a boutique atmosphere and an interior design showroom.

The services that JBee Designs will provide are as follows: renovation design, kitchen and bathroom boutique, material design and ordering services, consultations, assistance with paint and image selection, contractor search and management. project to name a few. The first consultation is free.

“I offer the design and materials of the space with floor plans and 2D elevations, and 3D renderings, advice in material selection, project management, logistics in deliveries and installation “she said. “I don’t have any contractors who work for JBee, but I can refer clients to the right contractor for the job. “

Bredeman plans to work with commercial and residential properties, but the primary focus will be residential, including new construction and renovations.

The Bredemans are closing the property at 17 E Side Square on Friday, December 17. They plan to demolish the interior and renovate the main level. Once the showroom is installed and opened, the upstairs apartments will be renovated. She says they are excited to restore the beauty of the old building as there is so much history and archaeological detail there.

“I’m very excited and I love what I’m doing. To be able to serve the community with my ideas and skills, I am thrilled, ”she said. “It’s a big step for me personally, it’s for any entrepreneur. “

The showroom will open in the spring, but JBee Designs is accepting customers now. To make an appointment with Jena, you can contact her at 309-333-0637.
