The NSW Regional Events Acceleration Fund is enabling Goulburn to once again host the retro-futuristic Steampunk Victoriana fair on March 12-13, 2022, with revelers flocking to see games, costumes, steam engines, food and Victorian era themed entertainment.
Funding from the NSW Government will help this year’s Steampunk event deliver a larger programme, including temporary infrastructure for attendees, a pop-up camping area and an outdoor cinema.
NSW Deputy Premier and Regional Minister Paul Toole notes that “Since the event was conceived, Steampunk Victoriana Fair has been incredibly popular and I am delighted that it is taking place again on 12 and 13 March 2022 after had to postpone due to COVID-19 and travel restrictions.
“The 2022 Steampunk Victoriana Fair will host a wider range of activities across multiple venues and kick off with a spectacular outdoor fire show on Friday evening, followed by two days of music, food, parades and entertainment.
“It’s a big economic driver for Goulburn every year and the funding will also help set up a pop-up camp area for tourists who would need to travel from far away to take part in the festivities.”
Goulburn Local State Member Wendy Tuckerman said ‘hosting major events like the Steampunk Victoriana Fair puts more heads on the beds and fills restaurants, cafes and tourist attractions, boosting the economic recovery of the NSW region from bushfires, floods, drought and COVID-19.
“The Government of New South Wales’ support of $60,000 for the Steampunk Victoriana Fair will allow even more visitors to experience the event in Goulburn and our wonderful visitor attractions. It will also allow event organizers to showcase more local producers and businesses.
“This exciting event inspires visitors to discover all the delights Goulburn has to offer, putting our area on the map as a one-of-a-kind tourist destination.”
Steampunk Victoriana Fair event organizer Julianne Salway says the Regional Events Accelerator Fund grant will reinvigorate the major local event and encourage even more visitors from across Australia to attend the event. annual icon.

The $40 million Regional Events Accelerator Fund is part of the $2 billion Regional Growth Fund, designed to support the growth of regional centers, activate local economies, and improve community services and infrastructure for communities regional.
