Channel Medsystems today announced the appointment of three new members to its leadership team, including a new Chief Financial Officer.
Channel Medsystems, based in Berkeley, Calif., has named Ian Vawter as vice president and chief financial officer, Rebecca Furlong as vice president and president of U.S. sales, and Nital Patel Bryant as senior director of marketing.
Channel Medsystems is developing the Cerene cryotherapy device for the treatment of menstrual bleeding. The next-generation platform received FDA clearance in July 2020, and the company said in a press release that the appointments follow a successful early commercial launch in September 2021.
Vawter joins 25 years of financial experience, Channel Medsystems said, having most recently served as vice president and chief financial officer at Tepha, which was acquired by BD.
Furlong has nearly three decades of experience in medical devices and pharmaceuticals, the company said, including in women’s health. She most recently served as Vice President of Sales at Takeda.
Channel Medsystems said Bryant’s 20 years of diverse experience includes brand recognition and sales momentum for medical devices, including women’s health products. She previously served as Director of Customer Marketing at Grail.
“We are delighted to have Ian, Rebecca and Nital join our leadership team which will allow us to continue to build on our early commercial success,” Channel Medsystems CEO Ric Cote said in the statement. “The interest and feedback from physicians on Cerene has been very encouraging and gives us early insight into the value this treatment can bring to women with heavy menstrual bleeding. Patients and physicians alike are very receptive to what these procedures be carried out in the office.
